Dewi Sartika

Dewi Sartika is a leading figure and the pioneer of education in Indonesia. She was born on December 4, 1884 in well-known Sundanese family. She received her education from his uncle and on 1904, she made a school named 'Sekolah Isteri'. After a few times, the school was relocate to Ciguriang Street and changing name into 'Sekolah Keoetamaan Isteri'. 

She passed away on 11 September, 1947 at Cineam, Tasikmalaya while she was evacuating from Bandung during Independence War.

Since she was child, she already showed her teaching skills and persistence to reach improvement. As she played with her friends, she also teach reading, writing, and Dutch language with just simple equipment to the servant's children.

After growing as a proper teenager, Dewi Sartika came back to her mother's house in Bandung. Her matured soul guided her to reach her dreams through the passion she embraced.

The manners was restrained women at the time. But, the persistence of his spirit that never subsided, Dewi Sartika finally convinced her uncle and was allowed to establish a school for women. Since that, Dewi Sartika already pioneering the education for women. She teached her family sewing, cooking, writing and so on.

She might be not as famous as RA Kartini. But, so many things that we can learn from her.

First, her desire to study. When every woman chose to cook at the kitchen, she decided to grab a book and start studying. This difference makes her one step forward than the other.

Second, hard work. She will do anything to educate all the woman that was underestimate that day.

Third, always being humble. Even though she came from a well-known family with great education, she still being nice and helpful to everybody.

Last, but no least, be brave. Be brave to make positive different even though your enemies mock you. You will get the opportunity to respond you enemies mocks later on and all your enemies will be ashamed because of that.
